Slide 4 Task 1
A science fiction film would have a unnatural space themed setting and the props used would be    alien like and have a scientific meaning to them.

A romantic comedy would be set in a more natural location either a city or small town. Most of the props would provide a theme of love.]

A horror film would be set somewhere dark and mysterious to intensify the tension. Props would be aggressive and potentially lethal.

Slide 6 Task 2
Slide 7 shows a lot of concentration and slight shock suggesting a storyline breakthrough has happened.

Slide 8 suggests a fight has broken out because of the blood and bandages and he has one due to the look of anticipation on his face.

Slide 9 shows power and control in a serious situation. The mans arms suggest he is in charge and the war time setting suggest its a serious time.

Slide 11 tells us there has been a potential argument as they are sat far away from each other and looking awkward

Slide 12 shows us there has been an axe thrown suggesting an attempted murder or escape

The pose of the men in slide 13 shows how they are ready for a fight with their weapons and serious faces.

Slide 14 shows a man above every one else showing power and dominance.

The One Direction song You and I is about love and how the someone wants to be with someone for ever and nothing will stop them. It is a sad slow song which is repre3sented within the music video. The Video has a low key lighting theme and take place along a grey cloudy pier. The Band also wear dark and cold clothes to emphasise sadness. They also walk slowly throughout the music video showing the slow progress the person is making in love. The whole entire video is one shot showing how the persons love is never ending the mid level camera shot.

Steve neale theory

Steve Neale's theory states that genres are examples of repetition and difference.
He says that in order for a film to be a certain genre it must complie with that genres stereotypes and rules in order to classified in that genre. That is his repetition and when he says differences he means that a film must push the rules and stereotypes in order to be individual.

denotations and conotations work

Denotation- From this game poster I can tell that the game will involve fighting due to Batman's closed fists and fighting stance. Batman also has a dark metal suit on to protect him when fighting. The tank/car is in the background with a turret. The poster as a whole is very dark

Connotations- Batman's closed fists and fighting stance tell us that there will be a heavy focus of fighting in the game. His armour suggests he will be able to take damaged during the game suggesting the game has the potential to be hard. His armour is a dark black showing us how the game will have a stealth aspect. The two stealth and fight combinations allow for any style of gamer to play how they wish weather it be fighting or stealth.

The tank car in the background tells us that there will be another diferent style of play present in the game. A racing and car battle aspect to the game allows further styles of gameplay to be achieved further allowing the gamer to explore how they wish to play the game

The film poster is very dark suggesting the game will be set at night. The darkness also has a metaphorical aspect which portrays the games story line to be dark and mysterious.

Media Influences

 

David gauntlet is correct in saying media has a significant relationship with peoples sense of identity. This couldn't be more true when applied to weight and health. Numerous companies such as protein world and Victoria secret use media to portray their ideal perfect body as an incentive to buy their product. However the models used for these campaigns are never an  accurate representations of the population buying these products. This for a lot of people is uncomfortable and creates a lot of backlash. With this backlash people use media to share their opinions such as model Iskar Lawrence who has numerously posed surrounding by unhealthy food as a way of saying we don't need ideal beach bodies to be happy. However both campaigns provide unhealthy life styles with a lot of Victoria secret models going on dangerous diets and skipping meals to stay within the model guidelines they have. And this is also true for the plus size models such as Iskar Lawrence who preaches and advertise unhealthy diets and lifestyles. To the public they will think being unhealthy and over weight is ok but it is not a healthy lifestyle. Both representations provide a negative role in spreading healthy lifestyles.

 

Wonder Woman trailer analysis

 

Patty Jenkins has adapted the colours of these two scenes too portray two separate places. The colour grading present in each of these frames helps create a contrasting mood, time and place. The first frame is a lot darker and cooler than the second frame and has been made like this too emphasise the darkness present in what appears to be war. A cool blue in the frame creates a sad and depressing feel. The second frame has a much warmer or higher temperature than the first providing a calm and relaxed frame. The second frame is more saturated than the first scene allowing the colours to be more influential in creating a warm scene. Patty also uses vignetting in the second frame to really pull the attention towards the centre of the frame. This allows Patty to draw the viewers attention where she wants and she can highlight or emphases a point without the audience even knowing it. In this case the viewers attention is naturally drawn to the centre statues . In the first frame there is no vignetting so the viewers attention isn't focused. With no focus the scene can be chaotic which is Pattys objective as she is trying to emphases the chaos of the busy train station during war time. I think patty's used these techniques to really highlight how the human world on the left is so chaotic, depressing, cold and uncomfortable and the other alien world is controlled, warm and calming. This creates a contrast that makes wonder women and rare form of control and warmth when mixed into the never-ending chaos and coldness of war. It really highlights how she has super powers and truly is a hero.
